Credit union robbery suspect sought in Juneau

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau Police Department received a report of a bank robbery Wednesday at the AlaskaUSA Federal Credit Union, located inside Safeway, on Vintage Blvd.

    According to a press release from JPD, the robbery suspect is described as being a thin male, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, and a red beanie hat that was pulled down over his face. The beanie had holes cut out for the eyes.

    Police say the male suspect jumped over the counter at AlaskaUSA and demanded tellers fill a backpack with money. At one point, the suspect allegedly pulled out a small knife and threatened the tellers.

    The suspect left the credit union with an unknown amount of money and was last seen running across the Safeway parking lot toward the area of Brotherhood Bridge.

    Nobody was reported to have been injured during this incident.
