Construction has begun at Cope Park, but contractors have experienced some delays in the installation of the utility lines.

According to a CBJ press release, the park and the access road into the park are anticipated to reopen by June 1st.

The Christopher Trail and Ball Field can be accessed by the Seventh Street Stairway or the Flume Trail; however, intermittent closures of these access routes are also expected during this period.

Construction of the park will continue throughout the summer season.

Alternate parks to visit that are nearby include Capital School Park at Fifth and Seward St. and Chicken Yard Park at the corner of Sixth and Kennedy St.
