Fairbanks, Alaska (KINY) The Alaska Marijuana Control Board meets this week in Anchorage with agenda items that include extra curricular activities at breweries.
The Alaska Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office will be meeting to clarify whether breweries and distilleries are allowed to host events like paintings, poetry readings, festivals, fundraisers and other fun events.
A memo obtained by the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner showed Alcohol Control Office Director Erika McConnell said these events at breweries and distilleries appear to be prohibited under current legislation.
The Board has also been debating whether to stop distilleries from serving mixed drinks in their tasting rooms. No official action has been taken on that item.
The Marijuana Control Board also is expected to discuss cannabis cafes which would allow on site consumption of marijuana.
