Bike patrol stops coffee shop burglar

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau Police charged Corey Chad Everett Thompson, 29, with burglary in the second degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

Police said a police officer on bike patrol responded quickly to a business alarm at the Airport Heritage Coffee Shop just after midnight Wednesday.

The officer found about $600 in damage had been done to the business.

An intrusion alarm helped alert police.  The officer came in contact with two subjects within minutes of receiving the call.

The door was pried open and the cash register damaged.  An employee told police that no property was taken from the business.

Mr. Thompson was held at Lemon Creek Correctional to await a court appearance.
