Fairbanks, AK (KINY) - The Bureau of Land Management in Fairbanks is looking for three Artists in Residence to take on Alaska wild and scenic rivers next summer.
This program comes as part of a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. The BLM's Eastern Interior Field Office is accepting applications through February 5th, 2018 for three artists who will each spend a week on one of the three rivers. Those wild and scenic rivers are: Beaver Creek, Birch Creek, and the Fortymile.
The program is looking to support artists from all mediums that support public lands. BLM staff will accompany the artists and the agency will provide most of the needed equipment, as well as transportation between Fairbanks and the river. Artists will be responsible for transportation to Fairbanks though.
Find the application and additional information on the BLM website.
