Arrests keep coming in Anchorage

Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) In addition to a record 35 murders this year, robberies continue to be a problem in Anchorage.

Police Friday arrested a fifth suspect for a 2016 kidnapping and robbery.  Zarin Freeman, 31, allegedly was part of a group that allegedly lured a 19 year old to the Anchorage Park Strip, abducted him at knife point, forced him to drive to a nearby ATM and withdraw money.

The group did release the victim unharmed.

Mr. Freeman is charged with kidnapping, armed robbery, theft and felony assault.

The group was also charged in a residential burglary in Eagle River.  Anchorage Police said they recovered over 500 stolen items worth more than $100,000 in that investigation.
