Arrest made in record tying homicide

    Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) Anchorage is headed toward a new record for homicides in a single year.

    Anchorage Police report a 20 year old man was arrested overnight after a lengthy standoff and charged with a murder that stemmed from a shooting on Sunday afternoon.

    Kuach Kuach, surrendered peacefully early Monday morning at a residence on Juneau Street.

    Devan McDonald, 22, was shot to death around 3 pm Sunday from wounds to the upper body.  Police did not release a motive.

    The murder was the 34th this year in Anchorage that ties a record set in 2016.
