Alcohol woes continue in Bethel

Bethel, Alaska (KINY) A task force has been formed to deal with ongoing alcohol problems in the remote Alaska community.

KYUK reported that the Bethel City council Tuesday approved a resolution that creates a task force whose sole job is to focus on alcohol-related issues.

The Alaska Alcoholic Beverage Control Board awarded a third and final package store liquor license to Bethel last year.  Mayor Richard Robb introduced the task force idea as a way to mitigate some of the issues.  He said he wants to get input and participation from the entire community to make the community safer.
