54 year-Old Juneau Woman Critically Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash

    Juneau, AK (KINY)-A 54 year-old Juneau woman is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle following a single vehicle crash Friday at about 4pm near 22 mile Glacier Highway.

    The Juneau Police Department received a report of a single vehicle crash near 22 mile on Glacier Hwy. It was reported that the vehicle was in the ditch and that the driver was unresponsive.

    Juneau Forest Service Officers, the Juneau Police Department and Capital City Fire / Rescue responded. The vehicle was found to be heavily damaged and resting upside down in the ditch.

    An unresponsive female was located on the ground near the crash, and is believed to have been ejected from the vehicle. The female is believed to be the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.

    The female was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for medical treatment.

    Juneau Police Department Detectives responded to conduct an investigation based upon the severity of the crash and apparent serious condition of the driver.

    The female’s next of kin was contacted and notified the crash and the female’s condition.
