Alaska-Juneau Communications/KINY Radio cannot promote sales of firearms, either by reading notices or letting callers on-the-air with their firearms for sale. Recent lawsuits create concern that these firearms may land in the wrong hands resulting in a private party holding KINY Radio responsible for any wrongdoing. KINY has no way of screening the seller or buyer of firearms and must restrict this practice. While KINY Radio is fully supportive of the right for responsible adults to own firearms, on the advice of our FCC Attorney we must for the best of the public interest not allow this practice.
