Youth Art Activity: Needle and Story with Amy Meissner (ages 9-12)

    Event Summary

    The Alaska State Museum is hosting a free workshop with
    artist Amy Meissner in association with her upcoming
    exhibition, Inheritance: makers. memory. myth. This workshop
    is for ages 9-12. Register by calling the Alaska State Museum at 465-2901.

    Students will work with vintage cloth, drawings and basic
    hand stitch to redefine the notion of the heirloom, creating
    a new object able to span multiple generations and ideals
    of beauty. No prior sewing experience is necessary. Supplies
    provided.

    This program is partially funded by the citizens of the City and Borough of Juneau through sales tax revenues. It is sponsored by the Friends of the Alaska State Library, Archives, and Museum.

    Price: Free, but registration is recommended
