Whale Tales and Fish Sagas: Stories of survival in a changing ocean
Monday, April 15th
Join science communication students from the University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences for stories of their research on fish and marine mammals in the Gulf of Alaska. Fisheries students Matthew Callahan and Valentina Melica share their research on sablefish (black cod) and blue whales, species that have thrived during recent warming in the Gulf of Alaska, and discuss the science communication approaches they have been practicing as part of their coursework with Associate Professor Anne Beaudreau. Admission to the event is free and all ages are welcome. Light refreshments will be served in the atrium following the presentation.
