'Modern Journalism: The Role of News Media in a Changing World'

    Sunday, March 31st

    Event Summary

The two-day event will be largely informational, tackling many issues such as the effects of media ownership on reporting, the blurring of lines between news and opinion, and the psychology of “fake news”: What makes us so susceptible to it? Other questions could include how news media contribute to factions and conflict in our national conversation. Can declines in news access and credibility as well as the rise of mis- and disinformation be reversed? What tools can consumers use to become more media literate? JWAC believes the modern journalism landscape makes this a timely topic for public discussion.
