Criminal Justice Reform & Tobacco Addiction

    Event Summary

    Dr. Chad Morris, Professor and Director of the Behavioral Health and Wellness Program at the University of Colorado will discuss criminal justice involvement and tobacco addiction. Justice involved individuals suffer a high prevalence of chronic illnesses, much of which is related to tobacco use. Dr. Morris will discuss what we know about tobacco use for this population and whether we should consider tobacco cessation treatment a social justice issue. Dr. Morris will describe innovative national initiatives, and where community agencies and state departments are partnering with the criminal justice system to meet the tailored needs of this vulnerable population.
